SUMMARY:Harvest Moon and Tsukimi Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Harvest Moon and Tsukimi with the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum and the Fort Washington Green! Harvest Moon refers to the full\, bright Moon that occurs closest to the start of autumn. Farmers would rely on the harvest moon to harvest crops late into the night before they had electricity. In Japanese culture\, Tsukimi means “moon-viewing\,” and is a festival that honors the autumn moon. This year\, Harvest Moon and Tsukimi fall on September 10th. \nOur event will begin with a screening of the film “Nourishing Japan\,” which “invites you to embark on a delicious journey from farmers’ field to school classroom that celebrates how one country has re-imagined school lunch and food education.” Following the film\, we will have a potluck celebration with games\, music\, and riceball making. \nPlease bring your own food dish to share! The event is free and open to the public. \nTHIS PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED\, IN PART\, BY PUBLTC FUNDS FROM THE NEW YORK CITY\nDEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY COUNCIL \n  \n¡Celebra Harvest Moon y Tsukimi con el Museo Dyckman Farmhouse y Fort Washington Green! \nESTE PROGRAMA ES APOYADO\, EN PARTE\, POR FONDOS PÚBLICOS DE LA CIUDAD DE NUEVA YORK\nDEPARTAMENTO DE ASUNTOS CULTURALES EN COLABORACIÓN CON LA ALCADíA DE LA CIUDAD
