Children who participate in this program will learn about different quilt patterns\, such as the The ‘North Star’ pattern inspired by escaped enslaved people’s travels via the Underground Railroad. Participants will learn about the experiences of enslaved people during the colonial period by creating their own quilt square using text\, images\, patterns and their own creative imagination.
