DESCRIPTION:The Pinkster Stroll Send Off \nSaturday\, May 25th \nfrom 10AM-11AM \nFREE \nThe Pinkster Stroll will be a group of Black New Yorkers dressed in historically inspired garb walking from Dyckman Farmhouse to New-York Historical Society in commemoration of both enslaved and free Black people in 17th- and 18th-century Dutch New York who celebrated Pinkster\, the oldest African American holiday. Join us at Dyckman Farmhouse in sending them off on their long walk\, and to discover how the Christian feast of Pentecost celebrated by the Dutch\, evolved into a Black American festival used by Black New Yorkers to gather with family and friends and reconnect with their African cultures.
