DESCRIPTION:August 5: Social Justice – Meredith Horsford and Richard Tomczak\, Dyckman Farmhouse Museum\n\n\nThe Dyckman Farmhouse Museum (DFM) has spent the last few years focusing on expanding their narrative. Like many traditional historic sites\, DFM had previously focused on the history of the wealthy white landowners. Eleven years ago\, McGill spent a night in a slave cabin at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens where he is currently employed. Now\, 25 states later and the District of Columbia\, McGill has spent nights in over 150 slave dwellings. McGill is joined in these sleepovers by many people from across the nation.
