Get Crafty: Pinkster in the Garden

Learn about the historic holiday of Pinkster, play with plants, and collage a paper flower in this free, all-ages, drop-in program!
Join us on the front lawn at Dyckman Farmhouse Museum on Saturday, May 30 from 10am-2pm for free arts and crafts activities for all ages!
- Pick our Museum educators’ brains about what’s growing in our garden! I promise we don’t gatekeep here 🙂
- Discover the connection between gourds and musical instruments like the kora, the akonting, and the banjo moments before touching an African Bottle Gourd we’ve grown right here at Dyckman Farmhouse and seeing the kora in action! Stick around to hear Kora player Salieu Suso perform on our back porch at 2pm.
- Use the historic Pinkster Azalea as inspiration for coloring or collaging your very own celebratory flower! Then, plant your latest creation in our paper Pinkster garden for your neighbors to see.
