The daily practice of social justice requires discerning the needs of those we serve. How can organizations assess, and respond to community demands to develop programs and provide support for participants and families? The provision of academic programs, non-traditional social-emotional and mental health services within the academic setting will be explored.
We are so delighted to continue our Talking About Race Matters: Join the Conversation lecture series weekly, from February 10th through March 2nd at 6pm!
This four-week series will center around social justice and advocacy: how advocacy groups and arts and cultural organizations participate and lead in social justice movements. Each conversation will be followed by a Q&A session moderated by DFM Executive Director, Meredith Horsford.
About our Talking About Race Matters Lecture Series:
One of the most important topics throughout history and in recent years, is the topic of race. Given current events covered in the news, we at the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum feel that it is important to have and to facilitate conversations on race, even though they can be challenging. Because of this, we have put together a series of talks with experts, each looking at the topic of race from a different perspective. Our hope is that we can all come together, learn from one another, and to continue the conversation. We hope that you will join us!

La práctica diaria de la justicia social requiere discernir las necesidades de aquellos a quienes servimos. ¿Cómo pueden las organizaciones evaluar y responder a las demandas de la comunidad para desarrollar programas y brindar apoyo a los participantes y las familias? Esta charla explorará programas académicos, servicios socioemocionales y de salud mental no tradicionales dentro del contexto académico.
Estamos muy contentos de continuar con nuestra serie Hablar Sobre La Raza Importa. ¡Únase a la serie de conversaciones semanalmente, del 10 de febrero al 2 de marzo a las 6:00 pm!
Esta serie de cuatro semanas se centrará en la justicia social y la defensa: cómo los grupos de defensa y las organizaciones artísticas y culturales participan y lideran los movimientos de justicia social. Cada conversación será seguida por una sesión de preguntas y respuestas moderadas por la directora ejecutiva del Museo Dyckman Farmhouse, Meredith Horsford.

Uno de los temas más importantes a lo largo de la historia y en los últimos años, es el tema de la raza. Dados los eventos actuales cubiertos en los medios de prensa, en el Museo Dyckman Farmhouse sentimos que es importante tener y facilitar las conversaciones sobre la raza aunque pueden ser desafiantes. Por eso, hemos reunido una serie de charlas con expertos, cada uno de los cuales analiza el tema de la raza desde una perspectiva diferente. Nuestra esperanza es que todos podamos aprender unos de otros y continuar la conversación. ¡Esperamos que se una a este evento!
